| Education for Active Citizenship Program 2004-2009 |

| Within the Educational cluster, one of the most important programs we ran is the Active Citizenship program. This program complements other activities dedicated to raising student achievements, with the understanding that learning how to be an active and involved citizen is as important as achieving better results in the core academic school subjects. The program was a unique co-venture that provides students in Israeli schools grounding for a rich and life-long engagement with and commitment to the issues of civil society, democracy and community activism. |

| IVN launched this program in 2004 in partnership with the New Israel Fund (NIF). With the support of the Ministry of Education, we created a pilot to demonstrate the effectiveness of implementing a civics curriculum for all grades from K – 12. |

| We have seen very positive results from our Education for Active Citizenship Program, launched in 2004 in Tuba Zangariya , Sderot and Kiryat Shmona, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education. |
