The current economic crisis is affecting us all; thousands are joining the ranks of the unemployed and consumer spending is continuously decreasing. It is time to focus on investing in alternative growth options.
|
| |
| IVN is supporting Israel's geographic and social periphery with solutions aimed at stimulating economic growth and job creation. IVN's Entrepreneurship Program identifies, incubates, supports, trains, mentors and develops social and business entrepreneurs, while developing and implementing innovative and sustainable social/economic solutions in Israel and beyond. Through this program, IVN supports and promotes entrepreneurs committed to economic development opportunities through new, creative initiatives and ventures. |

| Economic Reconstruction Through Entrepreneurship |

| Social-Economic Entrepreneurship |
| Out of its growing numbers of social and social enterprises entrepreneurships, IVN has supported a large number dedicated to generating employment opportunities. Since 2004, the program has been responsible for helping literally thousands of Israelis find jobs whether through Chaim Fox-Emmett's online Jobseekers Network, Asher Elias' Tech-Career helping the Ethiopian population take its own place in Israeli high-tech by providing technology training for Ethiopian immigrants, Bezalel Cohen & Yechezkel Rosenblum's Work from Within providing career consulting, training and financial aid support for the Haredi population to enter the work force; Linda Mosek's Window of Opportunity creating valued occupational opportunities for the elderly in Hod Hasharon or Margalit Moshe's Women Embroidering Andanet (Together) which integrates unemployed Jewish Ethiopian women into the Israeli society and economy through their embroidering |

| IVN's Economic Reconstruction Initiative (IERI) |
In the North - IVN's Economic Reconstruction Initiative (IERI) was established (with the leading support of the UJC, JFN and IVN’s members), to stimulate business growth in Israel's periphery, through a scalable model of coaching/mentoring and lending for small and medium businesses, combined with strengthening and empowering regional business consultants and MATI's (Small Business Development Centers).
Real progress has already been measured throughout the over 140 business in the north of Israel. Based on the success of this model: |
| • |
25 regional business consultants and 6 regional MATI were trained (management and staff) in the program, ensuring that the model remain in the field, catering to hundreds (if not thousands) of local businesses in the future. |
| • |
The model is now being used by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor (MOITL) in the North. It is currently implemented in over 50 businesses under the auspices of MOITL, with IVN mentors and business consultants who took part in the program still participating. |
| • |
By IERI’s model adaptation by Tzafona and Daroma, the initial $700,000 loan fund of IERI has been scaled up to a separate loan program offering over $120M. The new loan fund is operated under the guidelines of the IERI model as a partnership of Tzafona and IVN. |
| • |
Businesses from IERI are now continuing the process with Tzafona. |
| • |
A "business school" for business owners in the periphery who are participating in the program was established as a joint venture of IVN and Tzafona. |
| • |
In addition, MATI's that were not part of the IERI pilot have begun adopting methods that proved successful during the pilot.. |
|
| |
|
In the South - IVN is presently implementing a regional model in the South of Israel, based on the success of the northern model, in partnership with the Ness Fund, Daroma and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor (MOITL).
|
| |
|
IVN develops and provides the initiatives it supports with a compatible professional management training program, mentorship, enrichment and support, by creating an entrepreneur education framework, which supports and cultivates economic, social and educational leadership in Israel towards growth.
We have begun to track significant changes in the areas where we intervene and believe that our valuable and unique skill set provides an important contribution to Israel.
